Foundation Year

The Foundation year is a ‘stand-alone’ 1 year Certificate in Core Psychoanalytic Theory and Practice. It is also a required foundation for entry to the Full Training.

Seminars cover a range of key concepts related to core psychoanalytic theories and undertake a critical exploration of historical and contemporary approaches to mental illness and emotional distress.

Suitable for:

• Individuals looking for a more intensive programme that introduces core psychoanalytic concepts and theories
• Individuals wanting to apply to the Full training in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy

Time commitment: Mondays 7- 10 pm and Thursday evenings ( fortnightly)  8.30 – 10pm (3 terms) ; weekly individual psychotherapy; 3 personal tutorials per term. Clinical placement experience may be negotiated, but is not required.
